Submitted Articles

The NMK website was, and is, intended as a knowledge-sharing hub. A place where industry professionals can exchange the latest in trends, opinions and knowledge. And establish best practise. The old site allowed members to freely upload articles, in order to facilitate this.

Sadly, as time has passed, 'freely uploaded articles' frequently equated to press releases or very blatant attempts to boost search rankings for the originating organisation.

For this reason, articles for publication on NMK now need to go through the editor, who is looking for:

  • • original, interesting and contrarian op/ed pieces on current issues (only 'interesting' is a condition of entry; 'original' means not published elsewhere);
  • • tips for best practise - or articles containing that;
  • • interviews with industry players who have interesting views or something to say that will interest other members;
  • • new qualitative or quantitative research pertaining to the industry;
  • • briefings on new technologies, policies and emerging issues;
  • • content-rich reports on events, lectures, conference talks;
  • • good advice for businesses in the new media space.

But not looking for:

  • • product, personal or company pitches;
  • • articles that have been submitted to other sites;
  • • we don't normally cover 'news' stories, except from the largest companies in the online world. We don't have the staff to do this properly and so it's better to stick to doing what we do do, well.
  • • we'll make exceptions to that in a very few cases - normally companies/organisations/individuals that are active in supporting the community.

That said, please feel free to contact the editor at editor@nmk.co.uk
