This seminar will provide practical advice and guidance on how to design, commission, manage and apply online research. It will be of practical use for qualitative and quantitative researchers, but also brand owners, managers and planners who rely upon high quality research to underpin their strategies and decision-making.

This evening event will provide a thorough introduction to the principles and practice of conducting online research. Digital media channels are providing new opportunities for companies and organisations to survey and research customers, users, audiences and stakeholders. However, with a plethora of methods, delivery channels and applications, knowledge and careful thought is needed to get the most from online research projects.

This seminar will provide practical advice and guidance as to how online research work can be more effectively designed, commissioned, managed, undertaken and applied. It will be of practical use for qualitative and quantitative researchers, but also brand owners, managers and planners who rely upon high quality research to underpin their strategies and decision-making.

Speakers

John Hondros, Chief Executive, Radiant Digital (www.radiant-digital.com)
John is an interactive media pioneer. He was involved in the early development of Microsoft's Internet operational strategy, managing a team of consultants in Seattle. He later became one of the founding directors of NTL's interactive division which launched ground-breaking and award-winning interactive TV, narrowband and broadband Internet services. Later he set up Delos Corp, an interactive media consulting and production business, whose achievements include helping develop and implement FremantleMedia's (formerly Pearson TV) global interactive TV strategy, and executive producing Europe's first daily interactive game show. Prior to his career in interactive media, John worked as a management consultant with Accenture.

Suzi Bentley, Managing Director, Radiant Digital (www.radiant-digital.com)
Suzi is a ten year industry veteran in both traditional advertising and new media. She was most recently Managing Director of the Internet Consultancy Digital Laundry, which merged with Delos Corp to form Radiant. Prior to the Digital Laundry, Suzi lead strategic services at Tribal DDB, where she introduced a consumer-centred approach, successfully extending and developing digital brands for clients like Deutsche Bank, Unilever, and the Meat and Livestock Commission. Before that, she provided interactive brand strategy for clients such as Seagate Technology, Shockwave.com and New Line Cinema at Lot21 Interactive Advertising Group, and Grey Advertising, both in San Francisco.

Rich Alexandre, Survey Shack (www.surveyshack.com)
Richard has been involved in the IT industry for over 10 years and in the Internet industry for the past 7 years and was one of the founders of one of the first ISP's in South Africa. Richard came to the UK in 1999 as one of the founders of jungle.com, a successful online computer retail superstore which was sold to the Argos group in 2001. Richard then managed Zync UK Ltd, a consulting and web development company specialising in large corporate database driven websites for intranets and the internet. In 2002, Richard started writing the spec for the site now found at www.surveyshack.com and co-founded SurveyShack.com Ltd, a company which provides high quality tools for the creation, distribution, management and analysys of on and offline surveys and research projects. SurveyShack.com Ltd is used by many small, medium and large companies accross the UK, as well as many government and other organisations.

Richard Naylor, Consultant, Burns Owens Partnership (www.bop.co.uk)
Richard is a Consultant with Burns Owens Partnership and Associate Research Director of NMK. Prior to his appointment, Richard spent five years as a Research Associate with the Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies (CURDS) at Newcastle University. Richard has over six years of contract research experience, working for a range of clients that have included the DCMS, European Commission, the Economic and Social Research Council, the London Development Agency and the DTI. His expertise lies in the fields of media and the creative industries, knowledge economies and urban and regional development.
