AOP will host a forum on 24 January 2006 to explore the growing significance of podcasting and the opportunities and challenges it presents.

Recently named ‘word of the year’ by the New Oxford American Dictionary, ‘Podcasting’ has gone mainstream with media giants such as Emap, Guardian Newspapers, Reed Business Information and the Telegraph Group all embracing this new concept in content delivery.

AOP will host a forum on 24 January 2006 to explore the growing significance of podcasting and the opportunities and challenges it presents.

Featuring presentations from:
• Chris Green, technology editor at Computing
• John MacFarlane, online manager at New Scientist
• Guy Ruddle, newly appointed podcast editor at The Telegraph

The session will question whether podcasting is just about added value for the user, or if there are tangible benefits for the publisher: is there an advertising model? Which suppliers are operating in this area? What are the costs?

The session will also examine the factors that will influence the development and growth of podcasting within original, branded, quality content sites.

AOP and PPAi members are invited to attend at a rate of £20 plus VAT and non-members are welcome to attend at a rate of £40 plus VAT. Download a booking form or contact Lisa Quinlan Rahman on 020 7400 7532 or lisa.quinlan@ukaop.org.uk for more details.
