<abstract>
“A compelling workshop that generates a positive impact on individual and organisational performance”

In today’s turbulent and highly competitive business environments market dominance and organisational sustainability can only be achieved by mastering the capability of Right for Market (R4M). The challenge of R4M is to continually introduce sought-after products and services at the right time and price into appropriate markets, supported by suitable supply chains. It demands the product portfolio be maintained with products and services updated, optimised, and retired as necessary. All this is to be achieved without negatively impacting ecological or social systems!

‘Entrepreneurship’ drives attractive business opportunities, and ‘innovation’ delivers the relevant practical solutions. These two organisational competencies underpin R4M capability. So if your organisation is having trouble living up to its R4M potential it is likely that you haven’t yet got these competencies right. This workshop offers the chance to significantly change things for the better!
</abstract>

Content

In this workshop participants gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of entrepreneurship and innovation, and sort out fact from fiction. The concept of entrepreneurship as the most critical aspect of R4M is established, including the role of the entrepreneur in developing knowledge-sharing networks where entrepreneurship and innovation are incubated and R4M implementation is best facilitated. Participants learn also how this approach not only develops innovative products and services but also enriches critical supply chain refurbishment.

Note: A related workshop “Leveraging Communities for Sustainable Innovation” will be run March 17 2010 that deals in depth with developing and sustaining targeted innovation by identifying innovation champions and leveraging the power of their networks. In the break between the two workshops, sessions participants who sign up for both are encouraged to reflect on the practical implications of the first workshop on their organisation, and to begin planning the next steps for their organisations that will support the development of R4M strategies focused on sustainability and market dominance; opportunities will be provided in the second workshop to explore participants’ potential plans and issues for the beneficial learning of all participants.

Who’s it for?

 Directors and senior managers with responsibility for market strategy or organisational sustainability, particularly in SMEs

 Managers with responsibility for practical R&D implementation

 Individuals whose roles include entrepreneurship or innovation whether practitioners or academics

Benefits

 Insight into the very latest thinking on entrepreneurship, innovation, and Right for Market (R4M)

 Practical application of your workshop learning

This workshop is run jointly by The Leadership Alliance and Westminster Business School, University of Westminster.
“A compelling workshop that generates a positive impact on individual and organisational performance”

This is the second in a two-part series of workshops devoted to achieving market dominance and organisational sustainability by mastering the capability of Right for Market (R4M). The challenge of R4M is to continually introduce sought-after products and services at the right time and price into appropriate markets, supported by suitable supply chains. It demands the product portfolio is maintained with products and services updated, optimised, and retired as necessary. All this is to be achieved without negatively impacting ecological or social systems!

‘Entrepreneurship’ drives attractive business opportunities, and ‘innovation’ delivers the relevant practical solutions. These two organisational competencies underpin R4M capability and were explored in detail in the first of this two-part workshop series. This workshop examines the special communities and networks that may be formed and leveraged for successfully sustaining entrepreneurship, innovation and R4M. So if your organisation is having trouble living up to its R4M potential it is likely that you haven’t yet got this community approach right. This workshop offers the chance to significantly change things for the better!
</abstract>

Content

In this workshop participants gain a deeper understanding of Community of Innovation (CoInv) and their criticality in building and sustaining the entrepreneurism and innovation that maintain R4M capability. ‘Innovation champions’ are the individuals who have the characteristics and motivation to act as the foundation for CoInv networks. Profiles of these champions are reviewed and the use of network visualisation to identify these champions and their networks is explained and illustrated with a case study.

In the break between the two workshop sessions participants are encouraged to reflect on the practical implications of the first workshop on their organisations, and to begin planning the next steps for their organisations that will support the development of R4M strategies focused on sustainability and market dominance. Opportunities will be provided in the second workshop to explore participants’ potential plans and issues.

Who’s it for?

 Directors and senior managers with responsibility for market strategy or organisational sustainability, particularly in SMEs

 Managers with responsibility for practical R&D implementation

 Individuals whose roles include entrepreneurship or innovation whether practitioners or academics

Benefits

 Insight into the very latest thinking on entrepreneurship, innovation, and Right for Market (R4M), and the structure and significance of Innovaton Champions and Communities of Innovation (CoInv)

 Practical application of your workshop learning

This workshop is run jointly by The Leadership Alliance and Westminster Business School, University of Westminster.
