This Music Tank event provides an ideal opportunity to discuss the Licensing Act and its implications for the music industry.

With the Licensing Act coming into force imminently (via a six-month dual licensing system beginning June ‘04), this think tank seeks to clarify its implications amidst a wave of concern from the grass roots sector, and to identify how musicians, venues and promoters can benefit most.

Since the passing of the Act in 2003, the Live Music Forum, Chaired by Feargal Sharkey, has been set up to maximise the take-up of reforms in the Act, evaluate its impact and promote live music generally. As keynote speaker, Feargal will explain the work being carried out by the Forum, including initial research seeking to map out the live music industry in the UK.

This event provides an ideal opportunity to discuss the minutiae of the act and its implications for the industry.
