Gordon Cook, one of the US’s leading writers and strategic thinkers on Internet issues, has launched the European version of his popular The COOK Report on Internet Protocol. Gordon’s US newsletter has been produced monthly since 1992 – the longest running publication of its type.

The Cook Report Europe is a monthly electronic publication with features focusing on Europe. Issue 1 features a keynote interview with a visionary CIO; JP Rangaswami of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, a global investment bank.

JP’s thinking is tremendous - ranging from the use of blogs and wikis inside his organisation to the migration of value in technology-driven markets and the impact on humanity of open networks. Definitely a must read interview. The February issue will discuss an exciting and successful 'Fibre to the Home' project in the Netherlands.

The Cook Report Europe offers a refreshing perspective on the economic, social, political and strategic issues surrounding the Internet and new technologies.

A rich archive on the net's social, economic and strategic development

Brian Condon, CEO of Complexity Group and sponsor of the Cook Report Europe commented: “I met Gordon Cook about 18 months ago. The depth of his thinking, the people he knows and can interview in depth coupled with his unique approach to finding out what’s really going on is amazing. Since then, Gordon and I have worked together on the idea of an edition of the Cook Report specifically designed for European readers.”

Cook Report on Internet Protocol has been produced monthly since 1992 and has recorded the development and impact of the internet. Through a unique process of developing content, Gordon continually tests his thinking by interacting with the brightest and most knowledgeable people he can find.

What makes the Cook Report Europe matter?

Gordon’s approach enables us to look at the issues from multiple perspectives. The Cook archive itself is a hugely valuable and under used resource, acorfding to Complexit Group endorsements. As a contemporary archive of the development of the Internet, it is unparalleled. Gordon’s process encourages strategic thinking about the future enabled by the Internet.

Brian says: “It matters because most mainstream media never really gets to the heart of the matter. The ‘industry press’ is largely driven by the needs of the vendors and bigger service providers, newspapers seem to focus on gadgets and the geeks get lost in fascinating spirals of technical discussion. Cook hits the spot every time. The Cook Report Europe is a massively exciting project for us and we look forward to the reactions of our subscribers to Issue 1.”
