Skillset joins action-packed programme at Supporting Creative Industries conference
The full range of Skillset’s education-related programmes will be on display at the fifth national Supporting Creative Industries conference being held at the Barbican Centre today (Tuesday, 15 June).
By Nick Sheridan
The conference, which is supported by Skillset, will bring together some of the foremost experts on skills and training for the Creative Industries, including representatives from the House of Lords, the BBC, a range of leading universities and Creative & Cultural Skills.
The conference will examine how the education sector and industry can work together to produce graduates with the skills necessary to make an easy transition into the workforce.
Delegates from Skillet will deliver seminars on Skillset’s network of Ticked courses and institutions, which are an example of industry and FE/HE collaboration in action, the Diploma and work-related learning for young people, and competing in the digital age.
Skillset’s chief executive, Dinah Caine, said: “We are extremely pleased to be involved in such an informative conference that really is bringing together many of the leading lights in our field. Skillset has always been a champion of close relationships between industry and education, and we look forward to the opportunity to share our work with conference delegates as part of this exciting programme.”
The Supporting Creative Industries conference is being held today at the Barbican Centre from 9am-4.30pm.
