Mobile shopping made easier by Google’s brand new stock checking feature
Christmas can be a very stressful time, especially when it comes to finding the perfect gift to give to someone. It can take a lot of time and effort to search the shops and find the best deal, which is particularly true if you are on a limited budget. Many shops and retailers are constantly offering new deals and packages making it hard to find the one that is right for you. By Richard Wood.

But, thanks to a new feature on Google, the Christmas shopping experience can be made a lot easier, faster and can help save money.
This new feature is a blue dot displayed next to products within a Google Shopping search. The feature is available for mobile phone users who have the iPhone or Pixi or any other android-enabled mobile.
To bring up the blue dot feature, users simply just go to Google.com on their mobile phone, click the ‘More’ tab and select ‘Shopping’, and once on that page you can begin a search for the product you want to find.
Once the search is complete, a list of results will come up and a blue dot will be displayed next to some of the products. This blue dot will show if that product is "In stocky nearby" or if it has "Limited availability" in a certain shop. This is particularly handy if you don’t want a wasted shopping trip, by travelling all the way to that specific retailer, only to find that it is out of stock.
When you click on the dot it will display even more detailed information about the product including factors such as price, the shop you can purchase it from and how far away it is from you, you can even get directions to the shop, making access much easier. This makes it possible to plan your trip and locate the shop much easier, helping you to avoid the busy crowds of Christmas shoppers.
When looking at the search results using the blue dot feature, customers are able to choose the best deal at the right price in the closest or most convenient location to them, enabling a stress free Christmas shop.
Currently, this feature is only available from a selection of retailers, but UK based Pay Per Click specialist and Google strategic partner Gillissa, have been invited by Google to offer this service to retailers wanting to add the blue dot feature to their Google Shopping listings. Now that this feature is released into the UK Google expect more and more companies to sign up as it will benefit them so much more having up to date stock lists within the search results. It will also attract customers to their shores by providing them with more information about the products, their prices and availability.
As competition is very high during the Christmas season, this feature is perfect for retailers as it will really help to attract customers to their high street locations.
