The date of the ceremony has been decided and the titles of the awards finalized for the e-learning awards 2006. e.learning age are pleased to announce the continued support of City & Guilds as founding sponsors.

The 2005 awards scheme was a great success; e-learning excellence was celebrated with great passion recognising that the e-learning industry looks set to grow and flourish through 2006 and in the years to come.

“City & Guilds is very pleased to be the founding sponsor and welcomes the celebration of the 2006 e-Learning Awards," explained Dr Geraldine Kenney-Wallace, Director of Group e-Strategy, Learning & Information Technology.

“Over 815,000 of our candidates have now taken their work-based qualifications online since we launched GOLA (Global online assessment) in September 2002, and they are the people whose own testimony supports the fact that e-Learning can enrich and transform their learning experiences. Lively debates today focus on creativity, design, rigour, value added and fit-for-purpose web-based services, not if “e” works!

“Whether through innovative learning content, novel workplace simulations or learning through smart games, the 2006 Awards for innovation and excellence in e-learning will put momentum into an already exciting and inter-disciplinary industry that naturally twins learning and business.”

The gala awards dinner will take place on 9th November 2006 at the five-star Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London. This year the eleven award categories are:

• Most innovative new product in e-learning
• Most innovative application of learning technology
• Excellence in the production of learning content
• The best e-learning production on a low budget
• The best e-learning project securing widespread adoption
• The best example of supporting learners online
• Achieving inclusivity for learners of all aptitudes and abilities
• The most tangible project ROI
• The e.learning age young professional of the year
• The e.learning age team of the year
