Last year, 158,000 people took part in over 1000 events during Enterprise Week. This year London and Manchester-based agency Digital Outlook, as part of their ongoing work with the Make Your Mark campaign, were contracted to create an online resource for both young people that attend, and the organisations that plan and promote the events.

The finished product includes a platform for organisations to network - enabling them to share best practice and collaborate - as well as an online contact database so their partners and agencies could access this information remotely. Find it at: www.starttalkingideas.org/enterpriseweek

Best-practice and collaborative network

"The challenge was to assimilate a vast amount of information in an easy-to-deliver way that will inspire and enable both young entrepreneurs and the organisations who wish to help them," explained Simon Jones, Account Director at Digital Outlook.

Supplying extra functionality such as being able to contribute to a database of best practice also helps inspire others to get involved, and creates an extra valuable resource," he continued.

Young entrepreneurs can search the site by theme, type, and location. They can find the latest news, search by events, and receive updates. The infomation covered is not just commercial, but incluedes social enterprise too - embracing enterprise in its widest meaning.

Dissemintaing power through tools and networks...

The site aims to empower organisations to help set up events, providing campaign material, visual assets, as well as contacts to network with, a review of 2004 to help inspire, an action pack, and the ability to register and submit an event to the site, which, after vetting, will be automatically added.

"Enterprise Week is a national celebration of young people making their ideas happen," said Scott Cain, Director of Communications at Enterprise Insight. "It's vital people can both find out what's on and let others know what's planned. Online is the answer. Digital Outlook's solution makes that easy to do, and it looks great."
