The Catalyst () training division is a UK-first for the search marketing industry, and will help to dispel the 'black art' image of SEM by educating businesses in its tools and techniques.

Catalyst has been set up in response to overwhelming customer demand. The training programmes will enable businesses of all sizes to learn about the benefits of both paid search and organic natural search, equipping them with the skills to bring SEM in-house.

Equipping SMEs & corporates for in-house search marketing

Greenlight (www.greenlight.co.uk) is targeting the training programmes at small business in particular, that do not have the marketing budget available to invest in an SEM agency. Catalyst will also be attractive to larger corporates who are interested in bringing their search marketing services in-house. Greenlight has already been approached by businesses to provide bespoke training days in their offices for teams of staff.

Catalyst's training curriculum has been compiled by Greenlight's expert team of SEM consultants, who are also qualified strategists, editors, marketers and developers. The one-day masterclasses will help businesses to improve their search engine rankings, and obtain the best return-on-investment from their Pay-Per-Click marketing using best practice techniques.

Giving control of search back to business

Catalyst's one-day course in Pay-Per-Click is priced at £750, while the one-day masterclass in Search Engine Optimisation costs £795.

Alicia Levy, media director of Greenlight, commented: "The Catalyst division has been driven by phenomenal customer demand over the past couple of years, and we've already had sign-up and a great response from a number of leading UK brands."

"There are a huge amount of small businesses that have limited marketing budgets, so we've adapted to meet their needs," she continued. "We are confident that Catalyst is the much-needed solution, providing businesses with the knowledge and skills that they need to handle Search Engine Marketing themselves."

Catalyst training will officially open for business on 24 November 2005, but Greenlight is already subscribing individuals to the courses. For further information, please contact Lucy Park or Michelle Forsyth on 01273 666200 or 07866 615453 or email greenlight@midnight.co.uk
