Trenton Moss in Enterprising Brits
Chancellor Gordon Brown is to present the prize to the winners of the Enterprising Young Brits awards. Trenton Moss of Webcredible is in the final of the competition.
From homemade soap to conservation projects in Madagascar, the
finalists for the Enterprising Young Brits 2005 competition are
announced today (Friday 11 November, 2005).
Trenton Moss, 27, set up Webcredible nearly two years ago after
he realised that many companies are losing large amounts of
sales and repeat business as a result of being unusable and
inaccessible to disabled users. The company, which had a
turnover of £125,000 in the three months from July to September
this year, now offers consultancy to many household name
clients, including the World Health Organization, Norwich Union
and T-Mobile.

Twenty-five young people from all over the UK have beaten stiff
competition from over 1,000 entries and will now face the judges
in a ‘Pop Idol-style’ final on Tuesday 15 November in London.
Chancellor Gordon Brown will announce the winners at a lunchtime
awards ceremony as part of Enterprise Week, a national
celebration of enterprise.
The competition is part of the Make Your Mark – start talking
ideas campaign and recognises young people who have turned their
ideas into reality.
Kevin Steele, Chief Executive of the Make Your Mark campaign and
competition organiser, says ‘We received some amazing entries
this year from young people who have really made their mark. The
finalists are twenty-five really strong contenders. We hope that
their stories will provide the inspiration for other young
people to follow their lead and make their ideas happen.’
The judging panel includes Emily Eavis, music coordinator at
Glastonbury Festival, Al Gosling, Chief Executive of the Extreme
Group and senior figures from the Make Your Mark campaign, Daily
Mail, Lloyds TSB Business and HM Treasury.
